Unless you’ve been in a coma for the past two years, you are painfully aware of the serious condition of our economy.
Double digit unemployment all over the country, mounting Federal deficits, out of control National debt, and even States nearing bankruptcy.
Finger pointing is rampant, with various sectors blaming others for what’s happening.
Undeniably, there are a number of factors that have played a part in bringing us to where we are today, but looking for someone to blame isn’t going to solve the problems we faceOf one thing I am certain: patriotic Americans who are willing to rise above protecting special interests and become pro-active in seeking solutions that are in the best interest of all, most assuredly can affect change for the better.
If you are one who believes in America, and are willing to take the time to educate yourself on the true reasons for the status quo, and consider it not only your duty but a privilege to be a part of the solution and would not hinder it by apathy and inaction, there is good news!The most important change we can make together that will start the ball rolling to FIX our economy is to compel our legislators to enact H.R. 25, now languishing in committee because SPECIAL INTERESTS do not want it to see the light of day.
Pregnant with benefits to the economy, and great gains in the standard of living for all Americans, if passed it would spell the end of selfish politician’s favorite device for exercise of power, control and assuring perpetuation of their positions, and constituents be damned! Of course, I speak of The FairTax, introduced into the Congressional hopper by Congressman John Linder, and co-sponsored by at least sixty other unselfish and patriotic representatives who have studied its impact on the economy and recognize the benefits to all Americans.
There are three categories of people who oppose The FairTax.First and foremost are those in the legislative bodies of our government who seek to protect their positions and the special interests that keep them in office.The present tax code, which funds government by taxing INCOME, provides a very high standard of living for an army of lobbyists and those in congress who “game” the system for personal gain.With common cause, these self-serving non-patriots lie through their teeth about the effects of The FairTax, if passed.They manufacture all kinds of reasons that it should NOT even be given serious consideration.
Second, are those who fancy themselves as intellectually superior, have a grossly inflated opinion of their comprehension of the law and are convinced ANY taxation other than tariffs on imports is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.These are opposed to The FairTax, claiming it is only the latest in a continuum of devices employed by the Federal ‘Elite Class’ to keep the masses in subservience to those in power, who they complain, are living in luxury at the expense of the rest of us.These invent imaginary negative effects of The FairTax, which they insist will only make our servitude worse, and paint the most dreadful picture they can of the consequences of its passage.
Finally, are those who are too ‘busy’ to do the research for themselves, and are content to be led by the first two groups of ‘naysayers’.These form a misinformed opinion on the FairTax, and then set their feet, as it were, to see that everyone else ‘sees the light’ they imagine they have seen, and ardently oppose it for no better reason than because they’ve made up their minds.This negative zeal, mind you, based entirely on what the ‘aginers’ have told them, never mind the mountain of support the FairTax has received from dozens of well respected Economic Scholars and tax specialists, as well as thousands of well-informed Americans who’ve taken the time to thoroughly research it, recognize its many advantages and now enthusiastically support it.
Fellow Americans, if you have not personally researched this vital issue, and have more or less decided it isn’t worth a serious investment of your time, may I challenge you to take a responsible course of action.Go to the Website of Americans for Fair Taxation (fairtax.org).Spend some time reading all the documentation/testimony of knowledgeable economists and tax specialists who have themselves thoroughly examined The FairTax in great detail, and now enthusiastically support it.Take advantage of the more than fifteen million dollars of independent research already done to analyze the impact on every segment of our economy.Read the book, “The Truth About The FairTax” co-authored by talk show host Neil Boortz, and Congressman John Linder.You owe it to yourself and to your children and grandchildren.
There are many serious issues facing America today, and we should be aware of them all and be willing to do whatever is necessary to help save our country.True Patriots know this, and will step up to the plate.Without doubt, one of the most far-reaching of these is our badly broken and much abused tax code.The solution to this monstrosity, and much of ‘what ails’ America, is The FairTax.I have done the research.I love America, and believe she is worth our best efforts to salvage the legacy of the Founding Fathers while there is yet time.In unity, WE CAN DO THIS!That’s why I vigorously recommend The FairTax.It is a first step in the restoration of our economy and of the America we love so much.But, don’t take my word on this, DO THE RESEARCH!Once you know the truth about The FairTax, you too will support it.
