• The Tea Party & Me!

  • In December of 1773, three British ships arrived in Boston Harbor with about 32 chests of tea and told the American colonists that they would have to pay a duty tax on the tea before they could unload it. Well, this did not sit well with the colonists and on December 16, 1773, a group of Boston patriots decided they were going to have a “Tea Party.” They dressed up like Indians marched down to the wharf, boarded the three ships and unabashedly threw every chest of tea overboard into the harbor in what became known as the Boston Tea Party. They had decided to take a stand against the British Parliament taxing them without representation. The Boston Tea Party has since become a symbol of hope for Americans in fighting unjust taxes.
Now, over 200 years later, with an administration unwilling to listen to the will of the people, comes the Tea Party Express. This new “American” Tea Party has already made a major impact on all of America and is the force that will help take America back from the “progressives” and return it to the people. The Tea Party Express has arrived, and it has arrived on the American scene right on time.
Unlike the Boston Tea Party of 1773, today we are dealing with many more issues than just unjust taxes. Today we are dealing with a president who has an ideological agenda that is not in the best interest of America. Today we have a president who seems quite willing to lie to the American people and a president who seems quite at ease making backroom deals with unethical politicians in order to further his socialist policies. Today we have a president, an administration and a Congress that is spending money at an unsustainable level and has driven the national debt up by more than three trillion dollars in less than two years in office. This is madness and this president, his administration and this Congress are out of control and must be stopped.
Well, the Tea Party Express has arrived and America’s Sleeping Giant has awoken. It appears the Tea Party has given the American people an outlet to express their concerns and frustrations as to what is happening in America today. I think the Tea Party has given America a renewed sense of hope, at least I know it has for me and from what I have seen, for many others also. It seems that maybe the Tea Party has given America the vehicle it needed to put an end to the liberal and progressive madness that has been assaulting this country for years. The Tea Party Express has been picking up steam for over a year and I don’t think there is any way of stopping it. The people have decided they are taking America back.
Even though the liberal main stream media continues to portray the Tea Party followers as racists with an angry mob mentality, from what I have seen, Tea Party followers are the exact opposite. I have been to two Tea Party gatherings in Washington DC and one in Orlando, Florida and can attest to the fact that the people attending these protest gatherings are some of the most honest, peaceful and nicest people you will ever find anywhere. There were people of all color at these rallies, including whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics and the list goes on.  Besides people of all races being there, there were also Republicans, Democrats, Independents, students, teachers, doctors, nurses, business men and women, construction workers, men, women and children of all ages. I know the Tea Party events that I attended were gatherings of Americans; not white Americans, not black Americans, not Hispanic Americans, just Americans.
A really odd thing about the Tea Party gatherings that I attended was that you had amidst the crowds many desperate liberal TV reporters blatantly out there trying to instigate controversy by asking black Tea Partiers how they could possibly be a part of this type of racist gathering, while asking white Tea Partiers how they could be a part of a gathering like this and not be a racist. Interestingly, the only reporter that I came in contact with was a black female TV reporter in Orlando and she was very articulate and fair in her questioning. It appeared she was actually looking for a truthful story to be told rather than trying to do a “fill in the gap” type story that so many reporters there seemed to be doing. So here was this lone black TV reporter on the scene doing an honest story on the Tea Party rally, while many of her white counterparts were out there running around looking for all of those Tea Party racists that don’t exist in order to fill in the gap for their own biased stories.
Before the Orlando rally, there was last year’s 9/12 march on Washington DC. I was there taking pictures and shooting video and was absolutely amazed as to how many people were there.  First at Freedom Plaza, then on the walk to the Capital and finally on the lawn of the Capital, there were wall to wall people. I was quite surprised to learn later from the main stream media that so few people were there, when I had witnessed myself hundreds of thousands of people being there. I didn’t know it at the time but I now believe it was probably over a million people. I was also amazed as to how peaceful an event it was and how polite people were. Can you imagine a half a million liberals peacefully protesting anywhere without some type of anarchy. I seriously doubt it could happen. But the Tea Partiers are the ones that are being portrayed as an angry racist mob by liberals and the liberal press because they cannot stand what is happening here and are very angry because they know there is no way to stop what is happening here.
The reason I became so enamored with the Tea Party movement was because I was very frustrated and angry at what was happening to our country as a result of the policies coming out of Washington and our State governments and I was desperately seeking out the camaraderie of other like minded conservatives. The Tea Party became my outlet.
For me, it has been very discouraging to see what has happened to this country not only in the last eighteen months since Barack Obama took office, but for the last 30 or so years. For example, look at how many schools now have security fences around them; look at how many schools now have onsite police personnel and metal detectors; look at how many schools and universities are pushing progressive political agendas on to our children rather than just teaching them; and look at what has happened to prayers in schools. I could go on and on. Something must be done to stop the progressive machine that is at work here before this country is socially and economically destroyed from within.
As a conservative, I get tired of the ridiculous arguments I hear from liberals on a daily basis. I am tired of hearing about how stupid Sara Palin is simply because she is a conservative. I am tired of hearing how George Bush is to blame for all of the problems in the country today instead of looking at the failed policies of this administration.  And, I am tired of being lied to by a president, his administration and a Congress that continues to tell us how well the economy is doing and how they are creating and saving millions of jobs when unemployment numbers show the exact opposite. I am tired of hearing how we are recovering from the so called “Bush” recession as the country continues to slide deeper and deeper into what some fear may be an “Obama” depression. I am tired of hearing about entitlement programs and how redistribution of wealth is good for the country. I am tired of the business bashing; I am tired of the reckless spending; I am tired of watching the national debt increase on a daily basis at an unsustainable rate; I am tired of watching a president apologize for his country; I am tired of watching a president ignore the will of the people; I am tired of watching a president try to kill capitalism in favor of socialism; and I am tired at not getting involved and not doing something about it myself.
For me, the Tea Party Express was the vehicle I needed to get me to start acting. I now attend every Tea Party gathering and rally I can. I love the ones in Washington DC, but I also know that every one of them around the country is as important as the other. The Tea Party Express got me more actively involved, and now it is up to me to help get others involved. Even though the economy is tough right now and money is tight, I will be donating time and money to conservative candidates that I feel will make a difference. I will continue to educate myself in order to educate others. I will continue to make my political videos, I will continue to be politically active on Facebook and other social sites and I will continue to comment on as many political news sites and blobs as I can in order to help get the conservative message out to as many people as I can. I must admit, I do love talking politics.
I have come to realize that maybe Obama being elected President was a blessing in disguise. Maybe it was the wake-up call conservatives needed to rise up and take America back. Like many hundreds of thousands of people, the Tea Party Express has given me the vehicle I needed to help start making a difference and hopefully Republicans and Conservatives across America will take advantage of this great opportunity and get aboard the Tea Party Express. All Aboard the Tea Party Express. Next stop, the America our founding fathers envisioned!

Very good Mick @ConsLie We're taking back America from the Progressives, like you. I have no issue voting for a Dem if they truly believe in the Founding Values. Parties mean nothing anymore, morals and values do.

Take America back from who? Are you people off your nut? Vote Dem if you want to live free. Vote Repube/AmericanTaliban if you want to live in a theocracy.
